Free Legal Aid Center

One of the key areas of activity of the NGO “Vy.Mova” is providing free legal assistance to Ukrainian defenders, their family members, internally displaced persons (IDPs), Ukrainian refugees abroad, and teachers.

The initiative began in late 2022, during the height of Russia’s full-scale invasion. At that time, the Vy.Mova teams in Kryvyi Rih and Odesa started offering free legal consultations to Ukrainian servicemembers. The demand for qualified legal support grew rapidly, and within just a few months, the project expanded to a nationwide level.

In April 2023, a team of lawyers led by Chief Legal Advisor Mykola Briukhovetskyi launched a free legal aid hotline for defenders. Consultations were provided by phone and through messaging apps, ensuring timely and professional support for those serving in the Armed Forces or returning from the front line.

By November 2023, the project had reached a new scale — Vy.Mova lawyers began providing legal consultations not only to servicemembers but also to their family members, within the national project “Plus-Plus.” During that period, a separate Legal Center was established in Kryvyi Rih, which now operates as a full-fledged hub for free legal support.

Currently, the center’s team includes nine specialists who provide daily assistance to Ukrainian defenders, their families, IDPs, refugees, and educators.

To date, Vy.Mova’s legal team has handled more than 180,000 requests — through phone lines, messaging platforms, and online forms. For many Ukrainians, this is more than just a consultation; it is a real opportunity to defend their rights, receive support, and know they are not alone in their struggle.

The Vy.Mova Legal Aid Project continues to grow, expanding its reach and building a network of trust and support that connects Ukrainians across the country and around the world.
