The LEAD:UA Youth Political School is a joint project of the public organization “Vy.Mova” and the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS), which takes place every year in Kyiv. The main idea of the project is to help talented students who dream of becoming politicians, diplomats, and civil servants to look behind the scenes of their future profession and communicate with leading representatives of this field.
The first Youth Political School took place in the fall of 2023, bringing together 35 students from different parts of the country. A year later, in the fall of 2024, our team managed to expand the project and invite 50 students to the school.
Among the speakers who became mentors for the participants of the second political school for youth: Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the United States (2015-2019) Valeriy Chaly, founder of the Public Diplomacy Platform, youth delegate to the UN (2021-2022) Denys Ganzha, co-founder of DeepState Roman Pohoriliy, Special Representative of the US Department of State for Ukraine (2017-2019) Kurt Volker, Ambassador of Ukraine to the United Kingdom (2020-2023), Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine (2020) Vadym Prystaiko and others.
However, the LEAD:UA format provides not only lectures and public discussions. In parallel with the theoretical component, our students will also receive their first practical experience. During the three days of the school, our team recreates the Model of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, and the project participants work on draft laws, vote for certain amendments, form coalitions, and hold debates with each other.
